Prof. Girish Ramanathan is an alumnus of the University of Roorkee and graduated with a degree in Architecture in 1986 and a Master’s degree in Urban Planning from the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi in 1989. He has worked with UC Jain Architects in Bombay for a year. During his tenure there, one of the projects he was associated with was the prestigious Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research, Goregaon. After obtaining his Master’s degree, he came down to Bangalore and worked for a year in the regional office of CM Correa consultants. During that time, he was associated with the Center for Cellular and Molecular Biology project at Hyderabad. He left CM Correa consultants and joined M/s Team 2, a leading architectural firm in Bangalore, and worked on a large variety of projects, and became one of the senior architects in the firm. He left Team 2 in 1995, started his firm and has been practising architecture under his banner to date. He has worked with large-scale builders and developers, such as Tata Housing Development Corporation, DLF, Umang Developers, Skyline, Golden Gate, etc. His areas of interest are Residential Construction, Professional Practice, Appropriate Building Materials, Construction Technology and Statutory Regulations.
