Archana Vittal has completed her B.Arch. from BVBCET, Hubli and her Master’s in urban design from CEPT University, Ahmedabad. Her master’s thesis, guided by Prof. Yatin Pandya has been about the conflicts of heritage and urbanism related to the Development plans of Hampi. Before joining for master’s, she worked for a few years in architectural firms. She has been an Assistant Professor at RVCA since 2016. She is currently pursuing her PhD from the National Institute of Technology; Calicut and her research is related to signages and wayfinding. Her other research and academic interests are in environmental psychology, urban studies, urban sociology, and conservation. She has been teaching urban design, urban planning-related theory and design studios that involve documentation and design resolution for various issues in cities. She is one of the Editorial team members of sub:version, an academic journal published by RVCA. She is one of the team members of RVCA’s IQAC cell. Apart from teaching full-time at RVCA, she also has architectural practice in Bangalore.
