Archita is an architect and an academician. She earned her Bachelor of Architecture from Mumbai University and subsequently worked at a process-driven architecture studio, sP+a, where she honed her design skills under the mentorship of Ar. Sameep Padora. During her three-year tenure, she contributed to various projects of diverse scales, most notably the hospitality project Neel in Mumbai, a hostel in Kota, Rajasthan, and the critically acclaimed and award-winning Maya Somaiya Library in Sakharwadi. Thereafter, she pursued her Master’s in History, Theory, and Criticism in Architecture from CEPT University, Ahmedabad. Since completing her postgraduate studies, she has served as a tenured faculty member at R.V. College of Architecture. Focusing on exploring the intersection between culture and the built environment, she is part of the Architecture, Interior, and Basic Design Studios. Archita is also a co-founder of Studio Liminal Play, a trans-disciplinary design practice based in Bangalore. The studio operates across architecture design, interior design, art, and research, exploring the boundaries of multiple disciplines. Archita finds inspiration in conversing and collaborating with like-minded individuals and practices that challenge conventional notions of architecture and seek to expand its horizons. In addition to her professional endeavours, Archita is an avid reader, finding solace in the captivating worlds of fiction, and her fascination with textiles serves as a source of inspiration and respite.
