Abhinaya Gnana

Abhinaya Gnana completed her Bachelor’s degree from RV College of Architecture in the year 2015. She is a post-graduate in Landscape Architecture from TU Delft, Netherlands, 2018. She recently started her own practice, Nilam Nethram Designers in February, 2021. She has a keen interest in agricultural practices and constantly engages in researching more about permaculture and organic farming at her farm in Krishnagiri. Her professional practice also inculcates these experiments and aligns her field research with her pursuit of architectural projects.

D.M. Goutham

D.M. Goutham is the founder and principal architect of Bangalore based architectural firm, Mud Hands specialising in earth architecture. As an architect, civil engineer and Archiprenuer, he has worked in integrating alternative building technology and design into the urban context for over 17 years. He specialises in employing technological interventions to improve efficiency of building systems. He holds a B.Arch. degree from RV College of Architecture and was awarded a diploma in Civil Engineering from AICTE. He has been passionate in research work pertaining to building systems that are climate responsive leading to the foundation of Smart Box, an IOT based E com platform in 2018. As a design faculty, he has been associated with CEPT University, BGS School of architecture and RVCA. He has mentored many students through teaching, internships, and knowledge-sharing workshops across the country.

Debashree Pal

Debashree Pal is the co-founder of Voxelscapes, an architecture studio based in Bengaluru. She is a graduate from School of Planning and Architecture, Delhi and a post graduate in Sustainable Design from the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University. Her work experience oscillated between design and research firms that primarily focussed upon sustainability. As an aspiring change maker, she is passionate about incorporating environmental initiatives in her projects at the studio. She has been associated with academia focusing upon sustainable design and has a keen interest in History of Architecture and Climatology.

Deepak  Ramadasan

Deepak Ramadasan is an Architect and a Designer. He is the Principal Architect of Weaver Ant Studio, Bangalore founded in 2018. He has a keen interest in understanding the critical impact of space making industry on the natural environment. His practice is also interested in research where the primary focus is to understand the processes and solutions to handle the natural resources which can then by design become a part of space making. Having been in the industry for 15 years, he has worked with DDIR and was a partner at Play Architecture. He is actively involved in teaching as a visiting faculty at colleges such as CSOA Trichy and has been associated with RVCA since 2015.

Gaurav Sareen

Gaurav Sareen completed his architectural studies from RVCE in 1997. He has worked with Ochre Architects and Anil Dube & Zachariah Consultant among others. During the summer of 2006, an urge to embark upon a new journey led to the birth of Choreography of Spaces, an architecture, interiors and furniture design studio alongside his partner. Over the span of 15 years, his studio has been engaged in several projects pan India, inclining towards interior design with retail, Food & Beverages spaces being the primary area of involvement. As an enthusiast, he believes in staying hungry with constant evolution in his work domain.

Janardhan K S

Janardhan K S, an RVCA alumnus, worked with CnT architects, Bangalore as an intern and later moved to Ahmedabad to work at Sangath – Vastu Shilpa Consultants, a studio headed by the Pritzker winning laureate DR. B.V. Doshi. During his stay at Sangath, he worked extensively on various National & International competitions and projects such as The Nalanda University in Bihar, IIM Udaipur, IIM Visakhapatnam, National War Memorial and Museum in Delhi, Master planning and design of the Capitol complex for the new city of Amaravati, Re-development of the MP’s housing in Delhi. In the latter half of 2020, he shifted back to Bangalore to start a design studio with his former batchmates.

Lourdu Rajulton A

Lourdu Rajulton is the Principal Architect at ALRA, Bangalore with work experience on projects primarily based in South India and Nepal. He has worked previously with Ranjit Rajan and Associates. His design ideology is derived from studies on the organic development of Indian settlements and the relation between nature and cultural practices while focusing on the impact of scale and spatial character of the public domain. His interests lie in the design of appropriate construction details and methods to achieve cost-efficient building strategies. He studied architecture at RV college of Architecture and has won awards such as the Landscape Foundation of India Prize.

Mansi S Rao

Mansi S Rao is an Architect and a Material Culture Researcher. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and an MA in Museums, Heritage and Material Culture Studies from SOAS, University of London. She was awarded the Chevening Scholarship (2017-18) and the Charles Wallace India Trust and Simon Digby Charitable Trust Scholarship (2017-18) to study and conduct research in the UK. Her interests lie at the intersection of heritage, particularly crafts and material culture, and ideas of development. As a Senior Research Associate at DICRC, CEPT University, she has worked with craft communities to facilitate craft-design education and training programmes to enable sustenance of traditional craft practices. She is a Principal Researcher on the Vernacular Furniture of North-West India project, the first ever research on vernacular furniture in India.

Prakash Selvaraj

Prakash Selvaraj is the Founder and Principal Architect of the architectural firm, Genesis Architecture, Bengaluru established in 2003. He completed his architectural study from NIT Trichy in 1999 following which he worked across critically acclaimed architectural practices in India. With over 18 years of industry experience, he has been involved in over 320 projects in segments of commercial, residential, retail and industrial spaces. He has been associated as a visiting faculty in various colleges across Bengaluru for over six years. He is also the co-founder of Bangalore Architectural Foundation (BAF). 

Rajendra Hegde

Rajendra Hegde is an Architect and an Urban Designer. He holds a B.Arch degree from RV College of Architecture, Bangalore and an M.Arch degree from University of Politecnico di Milano, Italy with specialisation in architecture and urban design. In his eight years of industry experience, he has worked with OnSite Studio, Milan, Italy, Total Environment and Hundredhands in Bangalore. He is currently the partner at JRD Architects, Bangalore established in 2020

Ravi Kiran

Ravi Kiran received his B.Arch. degree from SIT, Tumkur in 2013 following which he worked at the prominent Sangath studio, Ahmedabad and Aura Matrix, Bengaluru. In the six years of his professional learning, he was involved in varied institutional, residential and competition projects. He started his own architectural studio, Keholtz Architecture Studio in 2016 that has a presence in Bangalore and Ahmedabad. His area of interest extends to furniture design, interiors, graphics and set design.

Sai Swaroop

Sai Swaroop completed his architectural education from BMS School of Architecture, Bangalore. He has worked with VK Girdhar Architects as project architect and consulted as freelance architect for multiple firms such as Studio Skapa, inhabit Architects in Bangalore. He is currently associated as an Interior Designer with Hyderabad based firm, Enliven Interiors. In the academic field, he has mentored thesis students in colleges such as BMS College of Architecture and Aditya Academy of Architecture & Design, Bangalore. He has also served briefly in the Indian National Army. 

Shantesh Kelvekar

Shantesh Kelvekar is a Landscape Urbanist and an Architect. He is a partner at Reading Grounds and has been practicing in the domain of landscape design and ecological planning. His interest lies in exploring the relationship between subtle aspects of design and living experiences. He also has a podcast called “Thirteen” where discussions oscillate between philosophy, ontology and human behaviour.

Smruti Belvalli

Smruti Balvalli is a Landscape Architect and a self-taught illustrator with a B.Arch degree from Academy of Architecture, Mumbai and a Master’s in Landscape Architecture from CEPT University, Ahmedabad. She worked in the professional field with Prabhakar B Bhagwat, Mumbai and Integrated design, Bangalore before starting her independent practice in 2019. Recently, her design won the All India Memorial Landscape Design Competition organised by Hyderabad based S.Jaipal Reddy Memorial Foundation in association with the Indian Society of Landscape Architects (ISOLA). Initially in the capacity of an Assistant Professor and now as a Visiting faculty, she has been associated with RVCA since 2017.

Suman Paul

Suman Paul holds a B.Arch. degree from RVCE, Bangalore University. He has a vast experience of corporate architectural practice in WS Atkins, Jurong Consultants and CPG Corp, where he had worked closely with various international designers both in India & Singapore. He practiced for more than a decade at CnT Architects where he contributed as lead designer in several prestigious design competitions. Presently, he runs his own practice DKP Architects with two other partners. He has designed and executed one of the world’s most sophisticated Underground Nanotechnology labs in Bangalore with CnT. He was awarded the Architect of the Year 2013 by Architecture+Design for one prestigious Corporate Headquarter Design. He has also designed one of the largest hospital buildings in India which received recognition as the most sustainable project from IDAC in January 2020. He presented his research paper, ‘Building as a Therapy’ at Manipal University in March 2020 and has also presented his Architectural research & findings at Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) scientists’ meet etc.

Sunain Dalwani

Sunain Dalwani is an alumnus of RVCA. She has worked at Cnt Architects, SRDA & DDIR Architecture Studio since her graduation. Her core learning focus is to embrace traditions while being relevant socially, environmentally & fundamentally. She actively explores allied interests in writing, research, travel & art through architecture. Her explorations have constantly informed her practice with her works involving creation of a travel research book on South Indian home architecture, inputs to redesign Bangalores’ new Dry Waste Collection centres, designing low income, accessibility friendly homes, etc. Beyond architecture, she volunteers with animal rescue groups & aspires to be deeply rooted in slow living practices.

Vasudev Kanthraj

Vasudev Kanthraj is a practicing architect with experience of working in offices of India and the US. With a global experience, his expertise lies in sustainable design and eco-friendly architecture, especially specialising in alternate methods of construction. An alumnus of RV College of Architecture (2006-2011), he has been the Studio Head for Akasa Design Atelier, USA since 2019 and the Principal Architect at Adhya – the design experience, Bangalore from 2018. He also has a strong background of set and stage design having worked with A.R.Rahman for BToS Productions from 2010 – 2018. He has been part of several workshops such as Design ByFoot at Srilanka, Kochi (2017, 2018), Design A Kinetic Utopia – design workshop at Singapore (2018) and Theatre & Set Design Workshop at RVCA, Bangalore. He has been teaching in RVCA since 2015.
