Kalpa, a brainchild of RVCA academicians, engulfs itself on the culture of research to inculcate its ideologies in architecture and related fields. The inspiration for the word ‘Kalpa’ lies in its ritualistic approach that endures significant cycles of learning, revolving around the processes of creation, dissolution and recreation. The research cell has envisaged an annual magazine bearing the same name i.e. Kalpa, to inspire the student folk and drive their attention towards unearthing layers of concepts that get hidden or unnoticed in their design processes.
Each year, the theme of the magazine is ideated to question the nuances of the architectural and urban milieu as well as its peripherals. The students are encouraged to design their inquiry through case studies, real time data analysis stating the intent and the gaps in research etc. The objectives outlined for KALPA assists and guides researchers, academicians and the students.
